Names of organizations and institutions

We follow the "Names of organisations and institutions" guidelines found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/France- and French-related articles in general for naming all organizations:

"Subject to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Trademarks and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (companies), names of organisations and institutions (e.g. orchestras, musical ensembles and groups, concert halls, festivals, schools, etc.) should follow official usage (i.e. the spelling, punctuation, etc. used by the organisation's own publications – always check whether the organisation has English-language publications, and if so what name is used in these). In the case of non-English names, we use official English versions if and when they have been established by the organisation itself. If not, we use the native name. Original English names, translated from other languages, should not be created."

Naming resources

Making sure HopperWiki resource library stays as uniform as possible is important for accessibility. Please follow these guidelines when you upload a new resources to the wiki.

1. Name the resource with a "English short title". The English short title is used by the curators of HopperWiki to make sure the document or resource is accessible in a clear English description (even if the true document title is in another language- use Google Translate to create the short title). Please keep as close to the original resources name as possible unless a rephrase makes the title more universally accessible. Remember this is just the FILE NAME of the resource. The short title should be cut off before a colon, semicolon, comma, dash (Unless it’s a dash for a date that’s in the proper title), or other break.

2. Use - "Wiki casing": Sentence casing with proper nouns and acronyms capitalized

E.g. Australian Plague locust commission locust bulletin --> Should be: Australian Plague Locust Commission locust bulletin Because Australian Plague Locust Commission is the proper name of a commission

3. Long title - Full title in original language copied verbatim from the original resource
