Template:Horizontal infobox

From HopperWiki

A compact horizontal "at a glance" box that you fill in by hand. It uses the same design as the species-page boxes (Ecology, Diet, Life history), but every value comes from the template call, so no data pipeline is involved.

Usage

{{Horizontal infobox
|label = Collecting at a glance
|subtitle = Field notes, 2026 season
|theme = experimental
|cell1_label = Best month
|cell1_value = August
|cell2_label = Method
|cell2_value = Sweep net
|cell3_label = Habitat
|cell3_value = [[Tallgrass prairie]]
}}

Parameters

Parameter Description
label Text in the coloured pill at the top left. Defaults to "Summary".
species Optional. A species name, shown in italics next to the pill.
subtitle Optional. Plain header text, for boxes that are not about a species. Ignored if species is set.
theme Pill colour: experimental (violet, the default), species (green), organization (teal), resource (terracotta) or geography (grey).
cell1_label, cell1_value … cell20_label, cell20_value The cells, in order. A cell appears only when both its label and value are filled in. Numbers may skip.

Notes

  • Values can contain links and other wikitext. To put a literal pipe character in a value, write {{!}}.
  • The box picks a balanced column layout from the number of cells (for example, 5 cells lay out as 3 + 2).
  • Rendered by Module:Horizontal infobox (section), styled by the .ib-h rules in MediaWiki:Common.css.
