Description
Grasshoppers serve as key bioindicators of habitat quality and biodiversity due to their sensitivity to environmental changes and role as prey for other species. The ChirpScan app project uses AI to identify grasshopper species from their songs, enabling efficient monitoring by experts, citizen scientists, and students while integrating with platforms like observation.org to track insect decline.
