Active projects
History of locust research
In 1998, Programme de recherche interdisciplinaire français sur les acridiens du Sahel (Prifas) was transformed into a research unit of CIRAD entitled “Locust ecology and control”. The Locust ecology and control research unit was integrated in 2011 into a joint research unit called the Centre de Biologie pour la Gestion des Populations (CBGP). The team continues its work on locust genetics and risk modeling, benefiting from nearly 50 years of expertise and a large network of contacts in the field.
